11th August 2026 Windsurfing: The Manor at Felixsrtowe Wind Direction: E Wind Stength: 10/14 Surf / Sea State: lumpy Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny and hot Max Speed: 16.27 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 13.25 mile (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Tuesday 11th August – Windsurf *** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny and hot. Foil – 16.27 knot max, 15.16 knot ave., 6.97 knot hour, 13.77 knot mile, 21.85 km., 11.13 knot alpha. Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 6.50m. After yesterdays epic 37 mile afternoon foil at The Dip I couldn’t make it again as I had an appointment so my only opportunity was a morning session which sadly coincided with high tide, not ideal! The wind only looked marginal when I drove down to Squiz Lane at 10.30 and was lucky enough to get the last parking spot. I checked the conditions with high tide at 11.10 it was quite lumpy with a bit of a shore dump but there seemed enough breeze to foil with 6.5? Launching just after eleven I swam the board out with no issues and with the east breeze fairly onshore here I was pleased to clear the rock groyne as I slowly sailed down the coast towards Landguard. I managed to pump up onto the foil and once flying I made it all the way out to the shipping channel near the mouth of the Orwell and managed to fly parallel to the beach turning near the big wheel. The sea was lumpy especially when the tide turned which was OK when flying but I had to wait for a gust to get flying, I had a few good long flying runs along with spells of floundering, it needed to be a fraction breezier but I had an OK 90 minutes and managed to land with no problems!
